What I did in Fourth Grade?

My
teacher is Mrs.Gust aka Ms Bogdan. I was really nervous about starting fourth
grade but the people treated me as I was here last year. I wasn't even nervous
at all. So on Mondays we have PE first thing. On Tuesday we have science with
Mrs CrowFoot also Library with Mrs Orangee. Thursdays PE again but right after
lunch. Trinity's face was so red. Lunch time is 12:55, recess 11:00. Friday we
are going to start Computer Lab. Once I fell of the monkey bars so hard the air
got knocked out of me. The same thing happened with Trinity except on the slide
youch that should hurt. This year we are doing something where you log reading
on https://www.biblionasium.com/kid_dashboard. That is very weird. Totally bad thing happened today a
Lauren or Lauryn has fainted today we got to go to the next door classroom. I
have just started tennis yay!!!Lauren Faints 3 times a week because of
something that happened to her it’s the 2nd time I saw it. First time Sep 24
next 25.We had our first art project and computer lab. Lauren got to go into a
wheelchair again for the 3rd time. It turns out that I am pretty good at four
square. I can get people out and I don't mean to reflexe. So there are 3 groups
for math. Begginer,Intermediate,Advanced. Beginner is Mrs. Baird. Intermediate
is Mrs. Korte. Advanced is Mrs. Gust. I am
in with... Mrs Gust. I got lunch with Mrs.Gust and I got a donut for a
treat.:)My first Conference Week no early days.My account like for Drive is

jobs and tables I am 2. Job: Lunch Helper. We are getting our first report card
on Friday. Now we are Having Read-in Day. We just had

Time
So
here’s what we did in math so far but I will keep adding more. Math is about
multiplying and dividing this year. If you didn't know it is were you use your
mathematical thinking.
1. We
did a math Test to determine which group we are in. Like advanced, low, medium.
2.
First, place value which kinda lead to number 3.
3. We
started to talk about rounding. Not like last year, bigger numbers
.
4. We
started to talk about regrouping numbers. Like addition and subtraction with 3
numbers.
5. Now
we are doing Mental Math, we are talking about ways to solve them
6. We
started to review Multiplication for homework we didn't do it.
7. We
did a multiplication test. We are doing another one tomorrow.
8. We
practiced our facts. (Girls did better)
9. We

11.We
did Prime and Composite. A Prime number is like 7 only 7*1 and 1*7 6 is a
composite 6*1, 1*6, 3*2, 2*3,

did like dividing a bit. And trying to solve things with what we already know.

are now doing 2-digit*1-digit multiplication.
14. Now
we are doing partial Products

are starting to do Division
Science
The
first thing we are talking about Rocks and Minerals. We started talking about
igneous rocks last week. Now we are talking about sedimentary rocks. The
projects are really fun. We made like a model of how igneous rocks were formed
with crayon. We did a model of sand stone rocks. We did a replica of fossils I
am waiting for it to dry. We got our
sand stone rocks. We did a model of metamorphic rocks when they squish
together. We did it with clay. We talked about weathering like chemical
weathering. Also Top Soil and how rocks break down like from tree roots. This
week we played....BINGO!!! We talk about deposition and erosion. Our model is
we have a sugar cube and then we put water over it and saw how it breaks up
like water in a crack. We did a map of the world to represent the moving
plates. We did a model of earthquakes. With
blocks, 4 rubber balls, rubber bands, and a binder cover. We did a model
volcano that actually exploded

Workshop
Writers
Workshop is when people write stories. For Example how can I make this story
better? We have been doing a new thing in 4th grade Writers Workshop. Here is
what it is about. We have been writing true stories and have been practicing
them. I have chosen the time when I Scared my Brother. LOL . We are going into
publishing after a while. One strategy is a conch. We are now taking a break
and starting to do superheroes, Hurrah! Now we are starting to do Fiction
Stories. The Ferris Wheel Disappeared. We did our first draft. Then edited it.
For editing the inner story and outer story the outer story is the senses what
you see, feel, hear, smell, and sometimes taste. The inner story is the
internal thinking. What you are thinking. Then we did our 2nd Draft.(Edit)Now I
finished my 3rd draft 3 pages long . I did my final touches and I am starting
the final draft. We did our checklists is it a good story. We did our
checklists is it a good beginning does it include the heart of the story.

finished my story so I will type it as soon as I get it.
We are
now starting to write realistic Fiction.
Readers
Workshop
This
is what Readers workshop is about,you don't know then look here.Reader's
Workshop is when you read a book and you make jots of it. For
Example,"Lucy has wanted a dog her whole life a cute little poodle."
I can relate to Lucy when I wanted a cute little doggy. You basically think on
what you are reading. Like this,"Lucy saw the dog and gasped..."I
think Lucy didn't get the dog she wanted.We have been reading a book
called,"Flora and Ullyses." It all started with a vacuum believe it
or not. It is about a girl who has adventures with a superhero squirrel.We have
been talking about choosing the right book.Our class website is https://sites.google.com/a/srvusd.net/mrs-gust-s-ingenious-4th-graders/. Need to remember that.I think Flora's mom is still
trying to kill Ullyses. Folk Tale, we read Snow white Disney and the Grimm
brothers. We talked about Myths,Legends,Tall Tales,Fairy-tales,and Fables. Also
Grammar what is in a sentence? Is it a complete sentence? Is it a Fragment a
Run-on or perfect. My least Favorite. We are reading the book Tiger Rising.
Art
Art is
where you get creative anything with paint,drawing,or your best work of it.
Like sculpting is fun if you like it.
1.Our
first art thing is the Mona Lisa. We did a lesson on how to copy with the
hair,eyes,ears,nose,ext.
2.
Then we did the shades of black and drew a cat.
3. We
drew a tree for Fall then we put tishue paper over it and a beautiful peice of
art.
4. We
are going to do the hands. From Michelangelo, where god touches’ Adam.

1. We
did this Science Brochure were we choose a region and right about it.
2. We had to bring cardboard and then we had to make a
like play-dough. That is the Salt Lake Project.
Recipe 1 cup of Flour, 2 cups of salt,3/4 cups of water. Stir it with
your fingers until it feels like play-dough. If it's to sticky add more flour.
3. We have to do a presentation on our culture. On Google
drive we make a presentation. Also we can bring food for a feast.

were doing an advertisement for a place in the region we chose. I chose Santa
Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

where you create or type in 4th Grade.We usually do type to learn 4. Sometimes
we go on Google Drive. We can do presentations on google drive and make drafts
of writing.
